"Well, here we are." Yuvon Peace announced as she pressed her palm against button to open the hatch. The new master was beaming as the door to the Dove's Wing opened to sunlight. Vent shielded his eyes and they both hopped out to the stone plateau that was their landing spot. Yuvon took an exaggerated inhale.

"Ah, smell that fresh air. Not a city for several light years. Nothing but nature and my favorite padawan."

"Master, I'm your first. You have nothing to compare me too." Vent pointed out as he gazed at the jungle beneath them.

"Oh, perhaps, doesn't mean you're not my favorite."

Vent gave her a small smile and shifted the pack on his back.

"So what is our mission?"

"Ah, one of my favorites. An actual official one."

Vent raised both eyebrows in surprise. His master was the jedi order's dirty little secret as she herself puts it. Most of their missions were stricken from the record and always denied by the council. She was a shadow, the most deadly of all jedi. Yet she also had another job.

"We get to study and archive the beasts we find on this planet. Ohhhh, Its been too long. No subterfuge, no killing, just nature and us....Well that's enough blabbing, lets get to work."

The new master and her padawan hopped down from the flat stone and climbed down to jungle below.

"Now remember, no light sabers unless we're in danger. We are here to study, not hunt."

"Yes, Master. Have you been here before?"

Yuvon crossed her arms, head down in thought.

"....Once I think. Planets do have a habit of blurring together....I've been to many in my life."

Vent bit his lip.

"Not to touch on a sore subject...but have you even been back to the planet you were imprisoned?"

Yuvon stopped and turned to him. Her cream tunic dancing in the tiny breeze. Vent averted his gaze from the pain on his master's face.

"No...And I don't want to think about what I would do if I were to ever go to that place."

Her padawan paled.

"Master...You wouldn't..."

"That place holds many bad memories for me. It was filled to the brim with pain and hopelessness. it would be like going to a den for a recovering spice user....I fear that even I couldn't hold the dark side back from wanting to take revenge on the pain they have caused. What's worse is that I don't know what planet I was on so any one we go to could be the one. Red earth is more common than you think."

"Oh...I see...I apologize for asking."

Yuvon shook her head.

"I don't punish for questions. Knowledge is a great tool and questions are the best way to gain it. Now Lets focus on the present and work on finding a good spot for a base camp. Call it childish, but lets be far away from the ship. I don't want to hear anything from anyone for a good week or so. I want it to be just us."

"Will we force run? These trees look like good platforms to leap, but I do not trust those branches. We might offend some locals."

The master followed her padawan's gaze.

"Lets just walk. We'll use the force in case of emergency. A good stroll after being in space for so long will do us both good. Watch your footing dear."

"Yes master."

For a few standard hours, both jedi walked. Master with a holo camera and apprentice trying not to lose his footing among the tangled roots and low plants. Vent wasn't much of an outdoors men, but he had to adjust fast thanks to his polar opposite master. She always got headaches in vastly populated planets and colonies. She never got snapish at him during these headaches but it only made her want to do what they needed to do faster.

It was one of the few times he's seen his master truly happy.

"Ah perfect." Yuvon said as they came across an outcropping of rocks and a small shallow cave. Around it a pond.

"Surprised the water hasn't been sucked dry by the trees. It must've rained recently."

"Why would the trees need it? They are tall enough to capture most of the rain that falls."

Yuvon frowned slightly, her gaze distant.

"Trees are just like people. They take more than they don't need and sometimes those who take die because of it. An unfortunate law of nature, but a law none the less. Just like how there must always be a dark side and always be a light side to the force. One can not exist without the other."

Vent looked away and set down his pack.

"I'll start putting the purification tank together."

"Very well. I'll find branches and fuel for a fire. This is a very wet climate, we'll be rained on a lot."

"Yes master."

"Oh and Vent?"

"Yes?"

Her padawan looked up.

"Feel free to draw as much as you like after your done."

Vent's eyes sparkled though his face remained stone.

"Thank you master."

Yuvon smiled.

"I won't be too far."
Just a fun bit of nothing with our favorite master and padawan.
